The Founder of the franchise, Jordan Taylor, established the team known today as the Dakota Lawdawgs in 1996 as the South Dakota Marshalls.  Inducted into the Minor League Hall of Fame in the 2005 season, Jordan is also the Assistant Director of football operations for the NAFL.

The wife of Jordan Taylor, Kimberly, can be credited for taking the team to the next level.  Without her day to day operation of the teams front office, the team would not have grown to the size it is today.
