Grew up in Camden, NY

 

Went to Camden High School in NY and graduated in 1988.

 

Attended college at DWU in Mitchell, SD and DSU in Madison, SD.

 

I am Married to Kimberly Taylor and we have been together for 13 years.

 

Children:  We have 5 children.  Shaka, Paris, Destiny, Justice and D'Artagnan

 Director Biography

 

Jordan Taylor has 14 years of minor league coaching experience as well as being a player coach early in his career.   In 1996 Taylor established the current franchise as the South Dakota Marshalls and has been the head coach for all but the franchises first 5 games.  Now known as the Dakota Lawdawgs the team has grown over it's 14 year history under Coach Taylor direction.  Last years 13-2 record was without question the teams finest capturing the North American Football Leagues (North Central) Division crown (8-0 in the division) and reaching the NAFL's Elite 8, finally falling to the National Powerhouse Kane County Eagles

 

Following the 2004 season Jordan was inducted to the Minor League Football New's "Hall of Fame" for his work on and off the field as a coach and general manager.  Prior to the 2006 season Taylor became a member of the NAFL's board of directors as the Assistant Director of Football operations and also serves as the leagues North Central Division Director. 

Attended and played college football at Dakota Wesleyan University where he played defensive back from 1998-99.  During his career in the minor leagues he has played every position.  A graduate from Camden High School in up-state New York, Taylor was a three sport letterman in Football, Track, and Basketball, receiving ALL-State Honors in all three. 

 

Taylor is the Lawdawgs Director of football Operations and manages the teams day to day activities, including the recruiting of players, sponsors, boosters, dealing with the media, and setting the course of the franchise.  Married to Kim (Schmidt) Taylor, the two have been together for 13 years and married for 5. Coach Taylor and Kim have 4 children, oldest son Shaka King Taylor(12), Paris Love Taylor(11), Destiny Hope Taylor(8) and Justice Grace Taylor(3).

 

In addition to working for the Lawdawgs, Taylor is an assistant coach for the McCook Central High School football program (coaching the qbs, dbs, and wrs) during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.  In addition he is a volunteer coach and assistant for the 7th and 8th grade basketball program as well.  During the 2006 fall Jordan also volunteered as the head coach of the Mitchell youth programs little dolphins.  Shaka was the quarterback and the team had a great season going 7-1 winning the championship.
